Are our PURANA'S mere stories??

This post is regarding proof of the incidents as narrated in the Holy
Scriptures.

Islam is not discussed here because it does not deal with Allah's
incarnation on this earth. Islam's history deals with the antics of
its prophet. According to Islam, Allah is so exalted that He will
not deign or condescend to materialize in any form on this earth. He
sends His prophet instead.

Next we come to Christianity. Contrary to popular belief, there is
absolutely no archeological evidence to support any of the incidents
as narrated in the New Testament. The Church relies entirely
on `eyewitness' accounts with regard to the life story of Jesus
Christ. The four canonical Gospels written by Matthew, Mark, Luke and
John form the most important (eyewitness) part of the New testament
(Bible). In reality however, these Gospels were unknown to the early
Christian fathers before 150 AD. Meaning, they surfaced only after
150 AD. Moreover, if you read them carefully, you can see that there
is a lot of variation in the events of the life of Jesus as narrated
by the four of them.

Now coming to our own Sanathana Dharma. We refer to our scriptures
as 'Hindu Mythology'. This term had been given by Christian
evangelists who had scant respect for our religion. Mythology means –
narration of myths. `Myths' according to the dictionary are those
supernatural `stories' which are fictional, half-truths etc or
something which is false. Most of us use the word `Hindu Mythology'
without knowledge its meaning. It sounds fashionable. I consider it
an insult to our Holy Scriptures. Any self respecting Hindu, should
NOT use it and also object to it if it is used anywhere. I think we
should use the word "Hindu Scriptures" instead of this derogatory
word.

As we are aware, our country was subjugated by foreign marauders for

events as narrated in our scriptures was destroyed by them, we will
never know. Lakhs of our temples had been ransacked and destroyed by
the Muslim hordes during their rule. This has been carefully
documented by them, especially Aurangzeb. It is said that the
Nalanda University burnt for months. If it burnt for months, you can
imagine the number of manuscripts it took to burn for that long.
Then there were the British. Under the guise of archeological
excavations, God knows how much evidence of our scriptures have been
destroyed by them. What the Portuguese did, we all know.

However, some of the proofs of the events in our scriptures are
slowly surfacing.

This site predates even the earliest known civilizations today by
about 4500 years.
